The United States is about to celebrate its 250th birthday. Or at least that was the original idea.
Increasingly, America’s semiquincentennial has been undergoing a rebrand. What began as a commemoration of the nation’s founding is slowly being transformed into a tribute to the man currently occupying the White House. The celebration isn’t so much “America 250” as “Trump 250,” with the rest of the country cast in a supporting role.
