No matter how much Trump now tries to blame the Democrats for the fiasco with the Epstein files, the truth is that it was he himself who, for political expediency, not only appropriated but fed the conspiracy theories about it, inflating the expectations of his most fanatical base to levels unmanageable even for himself.
