Support CreatorsWhy power hates humor

The fact that a legendary show like The Late Show, hosted by someone as beloved and respected as Stephen Colbert, is allegedly being canceled to pander to Trump, reminds us that those in power are always allergic to humor. They fear anything they can't control, especially something that helps people think and question. It is time for those who enjoy humor and understand its importance to help share, maintain, and protect it. Those of us who work with humor need it more than ever. Only together can we stop authoritarians from silencing us all.
