Different organizations estimate between 268 and 339 mass shootings so far this year alone, depending on how they measure it and the information they obtain. Regardless of which figure we use, the horrific thing is that by the time I finish writing this, those figures could well be higher. While these massacres are happening, the people in power who could stop them spend more time praying—but not for the victims. Rather, they pray for excuses to explain these atrocities without being criticized for idolizing the firearms industry.
