The case of the Cornell 7 once again brings to the forefront a serious problem that demands not only justice but also attention, scrutiny, and reflection from society as a whole, since such reprehensible behavior does not usually occur in a vacuum or all at once. It often begins—like any serious infection—when the symptoms, in this case social ones, are not addressed in a timely manner.
