At last, a few of America’s closest allies are saying out loud what has been morally obvious for decades: Palestinians deserve a state of their own. Britain, Australia, Canada, and Portugal have formally recognized Palestinian statehood, joining more than 150 U.N. members who have already done so. Their coordinated declarations are more than symbolic. They are a rebuke to the ongoing nightmare in Gaza. A crisis that can no longer be explained away as collateral damage in an endless war.
