When Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act—with overwhelming bipartisan support—it was meant to usher in a moment of accountability. Victims who had waited decades for justice were promised clarity. The public was promised sunlight. The Justice Department was ordered, by law, to release all Epstein-related files by December 19, with only the narrowest exceptions: protecting victims, shielding depictions of child abuse, or guarding active prosecutions.
Instead, what America got was a cruel joke, one printed entirely in black Sharpie.
